What is the server address?
for Java Edition. On Bedrock Edition use with port .
Which version should I use?
On Java, 26.3 or newer is recommended. On Bedrock, keep your game up to date.
Can Bedrock players join?
Yes. Bedrock players play on the same server as Java players. Your name gets a dot in front of it, for example .Steve.
Heroes
Do I have to pay for heroes?
No. All nine heroes are free for everyone. Type to pick one.
How do I switch heroes?
Open and click another hero. You can switch whenever you like, except while you are in combat. Switching doesn't reset your cooldowns.
Why won't my powers fire?
Check these:
- You are holding your hero item (hotbar slot 9).
- You are not at spawn. Powers are off in the spawn world.
- The power isn't still on cooldown.
- Your target has PvP on. Powers can't hurt players who have PvP off.
- On Bedrock, F and Q keys don't exist, so bind your powers to clicks in then Controls.
Can Bedrock players use every hero?
Yes. Only X-Ray Vision (Superman) and Water Sprint (the Flash) are Java only. See Heroes and Powers.
Survival
How do I protect my base?
Claim it with a golden shovel: right click two opposite corners. You start with 500 claim blocks and earn 50 an hour. See Land Claims.
Where do I respawn when I die?
At spawn. Beds don't change your respawn point, but takes you back to your bed. Your items drop where you died as normal. Your hero item never drops.
Is PvP on?
PvP is off for everyone until they turn it on with . You can only fight players who also have PvP on. Hero powers follow the same rule.
Can I fly?
Yes, with flight time. Earn it from crates and the AFK Zone, or buy it in the Bolt Shop or , then type to fly. The Champion and Avenger ranks can fly freely with . Nobody can fly in combat.
How do I play with my friends?
Start a team with and invite them. Teleport to each other with , and let them build in your claim with . See Teams.
Can I get into the End?
The End is closed most of the time and opens for events. Type to check.
Bolts, crates and voting
What are Bolts?
HeroSMP's premium currency. You earn them from voting, chat games, tournaments, crates and more, and spend them in . See Bolts and the Bolt Shop.
Where are the crates?
At spawn. Type . Left click a crate to preview it and right click to open it.
How do I get crate keys?
Vote Keys come from voting. Thunder, Villain and Spider-Man Crate Keys come from the Bolt Shop and vote milestones, and Thunder Keys are also a rare AFK Zone reward. Spawner Keys come from the Bolt Shop, the community donation goal and vote milestones. See Crates and Keys.
I voted while offline. Where are my rewards?
They are waiting for you. Open and click Claim, or type .
Can I AFK on two accounts?
No. Only one account per IP address can use the AFK Zone at a time.
Ranks and the store
Are ranks permanent?
Yes. Sidekick, Hero, Superhero, Champion and Avenger are one-time purchases and yours for life. Infinity is a subscription that renews every 30 days. See Ranks.
Can I upgrade my rank later?
Yes. You only pay the difference between your rank and the new one.
My purchase hasn't arrived. What do I do?
Purchases arrive in game automatically. If something hasn't arrived within 20 minutes, use the Contact us button on the store or ask on our Discord. See Store and Support.
Help
How do I link my Discord?
Type , then send the code to the HeroSMP Linking bot in a direct message on Discord. You get 100 Bolts the first time you link.
